I. BROKE. AN. XMAS. TREE.....
Hi guys, it's Rachell here!
Today I'm starting this post with a little bit of bad news... that I accidentally broke a Christmas tree.
I have no idea if there are any superstitions behind destroying Christmas trees but I sincerely hope not.
This Christmas tree was very kindly given to us by one of our bosses' elder sister!
It's a recycled Christmas tree, but our plan was to spend more money on Christmas decorations rather than buying a new tree.
So after setting up the tree, boss noticed that the tree was a little slanted
and I TRIED to help shift its posture back straight...
And that's when it happened.
I broke the Christmas tree.
The entire metal structure from the top piece got stuck in the second piece, and superglue couldn't fix it..
It's quite embarrassing that the first time I'm posting a photo of myself on the Boufe Blog, I'm telling you guys "Hi I'm Rachell and I destroyed my cafe's property".
So the very next day, we went to buy a new Christmas tree and some ornaments, and spent some time after cafe's closing to set it up.... so much for saving money, oops!
This is one of our bosses, Sean, hard at work!
Trying our best to fluff up the tree!
Our hands got pricked a couple of times while trying to do this cause the tree was spiky all over!
The sacrifices we do for our job~
Pictures taken by our other boss who was trying to show off his photography skills.
Really not bad eh, boss lol!
Some hands on from our boss Sean (in Green), our Head Chef Jiajian (in Black), and CDP Johnny (in Grey).
And then we were done for the night!
We've also made some re-arrangements to our cafe's existing table layout to make space for the newly decorated Christmas tree so that it can be seen shimmering by the window from the outside, and still be picture-perfect from indoors!
Our long table is also placed strategically in front of the tree for your mandatory Christmas tree shots!
We also got two of our service staff for the night, Alicia (left) and Hannah (right), to be our models to test out the new arrangement!
Pretty sweet, aint it?
And as for our old broken Christmas Tree, we didn't throw it away.
It's still standing in a lonely corner of our Alfresco area, and you can still take pictures with it if you'd like.
But please remember that the top portion is broken and not securely attached, so please approach with caution!
That's all for today!
We hope to see you at our cafe soon!
Our Christmas trees wish to see you too!
Till next time,
